Erecting a fence and gate between this thatched cottage and its neighbouring outbuilding posed a few additional challenges. According to listing requirements nothing whatsoever could be attached to the cottage wall rendering.

The solution was to attach the fence to a frame on the gatepost. The fence itself doesn't actually touch the cottage wall, it floats about half an inch from it, only giving the impression that it is connected.
